PHOTO: METROPOLIS/LEILA KHALED Diane Latiker (center) started Kids Off the Block in the Roseland community in 2003 to give at risk and low income youth attention, direction, and positive alternatives. Since 2003, Latiker has grown Kids Off the Block to include music, drama, sports, tutoring, and mentoring.
PHOTO: GREG DAVIS PHOTOGRAPHY/COURTESY FLOWERS COMMUNICATIONS GROUP Black McDonald’s Operators Association of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana and Apostolic Faith Church members, staff and volunteers came together in fellowship to provide “Food for the Body and Spirit” for Chicagoland-area homeless individuals and families at the start of this holiday season. Participants from more than 40 shelters were served at three different metro area locations by the program, now celebrating its milestone 10th year of presentation.
