Anna & Walter, Their Love Story

A movie by Walter Burnett

Walter Burnett

"The main reason I created this movie was to heal my suffering over my soul-mate’s (her name was Anna) passing, and the suffering of close individuals who knew us: family, friends, and anyone dealing with some kind of problem." Walter Burnett

This movie, however, has a "life" of its own. For example, last month, I gave one to my banker. While making a deposit into my checking account on August 13 of this year, my banker informed me, her nephew (a college student) had recently been "murdered" by several adolescents who had attempted to rob him. My banker's sister (the nephew's mother) is just stricken with grief (naturally). My friend went on to say, my movie touched her heart so much, she planned to give it to her sister as a way to help bring some degree of healing to her suffering. Although a tragic event to be sure, it did my heart good to learn my movie will be used for this purpose; to bring healing to another human being who may be suffering. Although not as tragic as my banker's story was, "others" have shared similar experiences with me, and how my movie inspired and up-lifted them too.

While trying to find meaning in Anna’s passing, I found it by creating this movie which, I have been told, promotes love, hope, and the value of “believing in miracles.” Thru this self journey of discovery I also learned the following factual information about the effects of Arthritis upon our nation:

Arthritis is one of the most common chronic pain conditions in America, diagnosed to about 21 percent of the adult population.

There are approximately 46 million men, women and children in the United States with Arthritis.

Approximately 2.1 million Americans have been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA).

Women are more affected than men, accounting for about 75 percent of Rheumatoid Arthritis patients.

Typically, disease onset for Rheumatoid Arthritis occurs between 30 and 60 years of age.

Rheumatoid Arthritis can limit a person's life span by up to 10 years..

Anna had a “lust for life” and unless one asked her (or was very observant), that individual probably never would have suspected Anna suffered from RA because she remained active, and high spirited. She was very courageous and a supporter of the Arthritis Foundation too. Anna once told me she felt destined to achieve something "larger then herself," to benefit humanity, and to that end, was designing a brush specifically to be used by those who also suffered from Arthritis. I believe by way of this short movie, I can help Anna achieve her destiny by doing my part to raise awareness and funding for research to someday, find a "cure" for at least, RA.

Working towards achieving that end, I have been providing copies of my brief films to churches, hospitals, friends, acquaintances, strangers, newspapers, magazines, and television stations. For you see, everyone is dealing with issues in their lives, and if this film inspires and up-lifts them, then perhaps they will become encouraged to do something positive to change the world in some small or meaningful way. Anna was also fond of saying, "If just one person loves you, that person can change the world." I felt Anna’s love so perhaps, this small effort on my part can at least create positive change in the hearts, minds and souls of others on this planet.
